New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, twitter account linked to personal website was hacked on early Thursday. As cryptic tweets were posted on the account.
Twitter said it was aware of the activity and has taken steps to secure the compromised account. “We are actively investigating the situation. At this time, we are not aware of additional accounts being impacted,” a Twitter spokesperson.
The tweets asked, people, to donate to PM National Relief Fund through cryptocurrency. The verified Twitter account was followed by 2.5 million followers.
The following tweets read “This account is hacked by John Wick (firstname.lastname@example.org), We have not hacked Paytm Mall.” But now the tweet soliciting cryptocurrency, has been taken down.
Same incident took place in the month of July, where several prominent personalities account were hacked like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Michael Bloomberg and Apple for the promotion of bitcoin scam.
Earlier, former US President Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos and other personalities accounts were hacked in the cryptocurrency scam.
