“I am 62 years old, I have two children. My daughter Shubhi Vats is happily married and living in Delhi. I am in Mumbai with my son, Aekansh Vats. I am basically from UP, Moradabad. I worked at a Government School as a music teacher for 27 years in Delhi and moved to Mumbai after retirement. I am staying in Mumbai with my son Aekansh since one year.”
“Dancing is my passion and I learned Kathak from my father in my childhood. My father is 96 years old -now and lives in Moradabad. His name is Shri Shanti Swarup Sharma and he used to teach Kathak. So, my father is my mentor.” she added
“It’s the third phase of my life and I am free from my responsibilities. My daughter is married happily, my son is with me and pursuing his acting career, so I am enjoying my passion at this stage of my life as I was always busy with my job and performing all the responsibilities earlier. Now that I am retired, it’s my time to live for myself and that’s why I am enjoying my passion.”
“Yes, when I posted my dance video on Instagram, people loved it and Bollywood choreographer Terrance Lewis shared my video in his Instagram story and gave me offer to learn Bollywood dance form and Navrath from him through his online classes free of cost. So, I am learning two forms nowadays, Navrath and Bollywood. My online class starts by 6 pm and goes on till 9 pm and I am thoroughly enjoying my online classes as at the age of 62, I am a student again.”
“I just want to say to all senior citizens, retired people that don’t live in past, live in present. You have done a lot for others and it’s the third phase of your life. So, instead of worrying for others, live for yourself because you can do anything if you have will power. You should become examples for others that life is to enjoy and age is just a number.”
Many celebrities have also shared Ravi Bala Sharma’s dance videos.
When she made one dance video on Diljit Dosanjh’s song GOAT, the singer-actor posted her video on his Instagram and wrote, “Ley Bai Mera Din Bann Geya Aj Da BHANGRA Dekh Ke .. Khush Rehna v ek Kalaa Aa Har Bande Nu ni Aundi.. Ki Ley Jana Dunia Ton.. Ethey Hee shad jana..
