On Wednesday, according to the news agency ANI, two terrorists carried out a suicide attack on an Army unit operating base at Pargal in the Darhal neighbourhood of Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir.
Both terrorists have been killed while three army troops also lost their lives. Additional soldiers have been sent to the base, and the area has been blocked off.
“Some terrorists tried to cross the fence of Army camp at Pargal. Sentry challenged and exchange of fire took place,” Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), stated.
Two terrorists were found and engaged by vigilant forces in Pargal in the Rajouri district, according to an army official in a tweet.
“The terrorists have been neutralised. 5 soldiers also suffered injuries and are being treated,” according to the White Knight Corps spokesperson.
The incident occurs a few days before the nation’s 75th Independence Day celebration. Three LeT militants had been killed in Budgam the day before by security personnel. Rahul and Amreen Bhat, two civilians, were murdered by one of the terrorists who was slain.
However, there have been a few terrorist-related occurrences in Jammu and Kashmir during the past six months despite Rajouri district and other areas of the Jammu and Kashmir region being relatively free of terrorism.
According to the police, today’s incident was carried out by the terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The attack comes just a day after authorities in the union territory’s Pulwama area prevented a terrible catastrophe by finding a 25 kg improvised explosive device (IED).
