Filmmaker Peyton Reed says his forthcoming directorial Ant-Man 3 will highlight superheroes Ant-Man and The Wasp as equals.
The series began with 2015’s Ant-Man that narrated the origin story of Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd. Its 2018 follow-up, Ant-Man and the Wasp saw him turning opposite his love interest, Hope Van Dyne, played by Evangeline Lilly, taking on the veil of The Wasp.
In an interview with Yahoo, Reed announced the third part will delve into the “partnership” between the two.
“They’re a partnership, and she’s a very, very important part of that. And that was a very gratifying thing, I guess technically we were the first Marvel movie with a female hero in the title of the movie,” the director said.
In another interview with Collider, Reed said that the threequel will be “much bigger, more sprawling” than the previous chapters.
The Ant-Man fans have a long wait as there is no sign of renewal right-away. Ant-Man 3 is expected to be released in 2022 by Marvel Studios.
