The recent turn of events in the Box Office Industry declares that Avengers Endgame is no more the highest-grossing film of all time. Indeed, it has been surpassed by James Cameron’s Avatar. In tribute to this achievement, The ‘Russo brothers’, popularly known as the Fathers Of The Avengers, shared a tribute artwork hailing ‘James Cameron’ and producer ‘Jon Landau’.
After getting re-releasing in China, amid the coronavirus pandemic, ‘Avatar’ earned the title of the highest-grossing film of all time. Although its worldwide accolade of the ‘highest-grossing blockbuster was broken by Avengers: Endgame in 2019, it seems James is back in business.
The last Friday, dtd. 12 March 2021, Cameron’s film rung up an estimated income of USD 3.5 million in new ticket sales after it was re-released. This happened after the moviegoing was rebounded in China.

This put ‘Avatar’ just shy of the USD 2.79 billion worldwide total collected by ‘Engame’, according to the distributor, ‘Walt Disney Co.’ The films are now owned by ‘Walt Disney Co.’ after they bought assets from ‘Fox’ in 2019.

In the meantime, the Avatar Franchise is also shooting for a sequel. ‘Avatar 2’, will take place 12 years after the events of the first movie. We will see Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) as he roams the planet of Pandora with the new family he has with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana)
Although there are 23 movies relating to the Avengers, (both animated and cinematic), it was quite an achievement by Cameron’s team to surpass such a behemoth of a franchise.
It seems that the Na’vi has surpassed the Avengers, as the Earth’s mightiest heroes! And of course, the Avengers HQ at Manhattan, NYC will soon be raided by the inhabitants of Pandora.
