CBI to probe Sushant Singh Rajput case: SC verdict

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on June 14 has led to a burst of controversies, which involved the Mumbai police, Bihar police, ED as well as the CBI investigating his unseemly demise. The Supreme Court has now announced that the CBI will take over the examination of Sushant Singh Rajput case.

According to ANI Supreme Court has also pronounced the verdict on Rhea Chakraborty’s plea, the case will be transferred to Mumbai.

“CBI will be responsible to probe not only Patna FIR but any FIR linked to Rajput’s death case,” says Supreme court.

SC asks Mumbai Police to provide all data collected so far in the case of CBI. SC ensured that there was no ambiguity about CBI being the sole authority to investigate the mystery behind Rajput’s suicidal death. No other state police could interfere with it.

The court further noted that since the Mumbai police had recorded only an accidental death statement for Rajput’s death, it had restricted investigation powers.
