The entertainment industry also is known as showbiz completes the dreams of some gems. Everyone wants to be on the footlights but only a few can make up to the stage. The path that layout happiness and satisfaction should be one to walk on.

Here are some well-known gems that bow out from the stage to go after the spiritual path:

1. Sana Khan 

After a messy breakup with the choreographer Melvis Louis, Sana Khan one of the well-known faces in Bollywood decided to quit the industry to follow the path of Islam. Actress said she felt enlightened by the teaching of Islam. Khan was seen with Salman Khan in the prominent show Big Boss and the movie Jai Ho.

She announced it on Instagram with a big post stating it’s the “happiest day”. Later, with another Instagram post, Khan announced her wedding with Anas Sayed.


2. Zaira Wasim 

Zaira Wasim the girl who did a great debut with a blockbuster movie Dangal and later was seen in big production movies like The sky is pink and The Secrete Superstar decided to quit Bollywood. The instant decision of the actress shook everybody, yet again the actress announced the news on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. She said, “This journey has been exhausting, to battle my soul for so long.”

The actress was bashed by many after her posts and recently she has been seen requesting fan pages to remove her pictures stating ‘I am trying to start a new chapter in my life’.


3. Anu Aggarwal 

The sensational actress Anu Aggarwal seen in movies like Aashiqui, King Uncle, and Khal Naika, instantly took the decision to break off from the showbiz to adapt the path of spirituality. Her decision shook many members of the industry as was considered a talented actress.


4. Sofia Hayat 

The prominent actress and another ex-Big Boss contestant Sofia Hayat announced in June 2016, that she will be following her spirituality and become a nun. Sofia adopted the name Gaia Sofia Mother.

In an interview with TOI  Sofia had said, “If you Google Kali Maa, you will find hundreds of pictures of her, nak*d…I took one of those pictures. A lot of people across the world follow me on social media and individuals who file such complaints are going to convey the message that Indians are backward and unintelligent. These people have no respect for Hinduism…they are just seeking publicity using my name. They don’t report hardcore pornography, but have an issue with my devotion.”


5. Mamta Kulkarni 

Mamta Kulkarni one of the finest 90’s actresses seen in blockbusters like Karan Arjun, Sabse Baja Khiladi, and China Gate. She is one of the actresses who worked with all the three khan’s. Kulkarni took the decision to follow her calling after her fast movie Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum.


6. Vinod Khanna

The most handsome man in the 70s and actor saw in huge films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Qurbani, The burning Train, Vinod Khan took a decision to move to Oregon in 1975. The actor left his family and kids back in Mumbai and rumored to become a sanyasi. Though, he was yet again seen on the screen in the movie Dabang as Salman’s father.


7. Barkha Madan

Barkha Madan a well-known actress and producer found her calling for Buddhism ideology and in November 2012, decided to quit the industry and become a Buddhist nun. Barkha became a follower of Dalai Lama and later said it was the most important and right decision she ever made in her life.


8. Suchitra Sen 

After a successful career of 25 years and being a superstar Bengali actress, Suchita sen vanished from the industry. The actress announced to retire and follow her time and energy to Ramakrishna Mission. In 2013 she passed away.


9. August T. Jones 

The actor who left his career at peak to follow the path of religion. Actor August T Jones, a popular celeb from Two And A Half Men devoted 10 years as a character in the show and drop off the show in 2013 to pursue his calling of spirituality.
