Class of 83 trailer: Bobby Deol is back with a bang

The trailer of Netflix’s Class of 83, featuring Bobby Deol in the lead role, is out. Here, Bobby plays the role of the dean of a police academy. The story is set during the 1980s when the crime in Bombay (presently Mumbai) was very high. Adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s Class of 83: The Punishers of Mumbai Police, the film additionally stars Annup Sonii, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Joy Sengupta, Bhupendra Jadawat, Ninad Mahajani, Hitesh Bhojraj, Sameer Paranjape and Prithvik Pratap.

Bobby plays Dean Vijay Singh who chooses to assemble a mystery crew of officials who will have the opportunity to lead encounters of gangsters and criminals with no interruptions. His mission to slaughter five individuals from a crime ring who are perilous to Bombay.

The trailer says the story is “inspired by the true story of the officials of the law” The voice-over in the trailer says that to maintain and look after order, one needs to sacrifice the law. Bobby’s character here is battling to grapple with his past, which gives him an agonizing backstory.

While we have seen similar stories in Bollywood previously, this Red Chillies Entertainment film appears to be smooth. From the trailer, it appears as though the film is attempting to legitimize police mercilessness where the officials of the law are additionally the decisive factors who can execute anybody they believe has carried out a crime.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is likewise the producer of the film, shared the trailer on Twitter.

Director Atul Sabharwal said in an announcement, “This project was extremely interesting. The whole crew helped bring the era of the 80s to life, which was a big challenge. People will see Bobby as they have never seen him before. The cast of newcomers is phenomenal in the film.”

Class of 83 will stream on Netflix from August 21.
