Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League has redesigned their Jersey for the very first time since the inaugural edition of jerseys. Presented over new media on Wednesday ahead of the 2021 VIVO Indian Premier League season beginning on April 9, CSK disclosed their idea behind adding camouflage to Jersey. It is to pay a tribute to the armed forces and three stars atop the logo of CSK.

CSK has never failed to pay importance to the Indian Army. They posted appreciation by presenting a cheque of Rs two crore at the start of the 2019 IPL season. MS Dhoni is an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army and also trained with the Parachute Regiment in 2019.
“It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The camouflage is an appreciation of their service… they are the true heroes,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan said.
The camouflage on the shoulders is bordered with gold bands signifying the fair play in the game by the team players. CSK won the IPL fair play award six times in 11 seasons. The three stars denote the three IPL titles won in 2010, 2011, and 2018.
Their logo primarily on the jerseys, Myntra, The India Cements Limited, who are celebrating the milestone of 75 years, Gulf, Nippon Paint, SNJ, and Astral Pipes are among the team’s principal sponsors.
Fans who are keen to order the replica of the jersey can get it from the CSK application or their website. Log in to the Chennai Super Kings Website to know more details about the purchase.
