The Indian Army helped three Chinese citizens who lost their way in the Plateau area of North Sikkim at an altitude of 17,500 feet recently, a source reported. This incident happened despite the fact that both the countries were engaged in a four-month-long border standoff in Eastern Ladakh.

Realizing the danger to the lives of the Chinese citizens, the soldiers of the Indian Army instantly reached out the two men and one woman in the sub-zero temperatures. They administered the immediate medical assistance that was needed for the well being of the Chinese citizens. The Indian Army helped them by providing them vital resources that included oxygen, food and warm clothes in order to protect them from the vagaries of extreme altitude and the harsh climate.
The Indian troops also gave them suitable guidance to reach their destination after which they moved back. The Chinese citizens expressed their gratitude towards India as well as the Indian Army for their selfless & timely assistance.
