Disney+ Hotstar has delivered the trailer for Hostages 2. The forthcoming season marks the return of Ronit Roy as supercop SP Prithvi Singh. The Hotstar Special series will also feature Divya Dutta, Dino Morea, Shibani Dandekar and Shweta Basu Prasad.
The returning season has been directed by Sachin Kumar Krishan. Sudhir Mishra, who helmed the first season, has assumed the role of Series Director. Watch the trailer below.
The storyline resumes shortly after declaring that CM Handa (Dalip Tahil) is indeed alive and Prithvi Singh has captured the politician. However, an unfortunate chain of events ends up making Prithvi a captive himself. It will be a nice to see how Prithvi struggles and goes up to what extend to save his wife.
“Hostages franchise is very close to my heart because of the unexpected nature of the narrative – it’s explosive, twisted and will catch everyone by surprise,” Sudhir said. “Hostages Season 2 marks a journey with an intriguing turn of events and brings new faces, new secrets and new mysteries for the audience to explore and enjoy.”
Ronit said it was good to know that his character was widely appreciated. “For me personally, I wanted to go ahead of my own performance from the previous season and really explore the bases of this intense character where he goes from being entirely in control to losing that control and finding himself in a position he can’t find a way out of. Hostages Season 2 is a finely crafted classic and I’m eager to know what else is in store for Prithvi,” the actor said.
Hostages 2 is produced by Applause Entertainment in partnership with Banijay Asia. The second season is set to premiere on September 9 on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
