England has pushed Australia from the number one position in the ICC T20I rankings after its lengthy whitewash series over South Africa in the recently ended three-game rubber. In the final T20I in Newlands, England beat the Proteas by nine wickets to complete the series sweep. Dawid Malan(99*) and Jos Buttler(67*) had a limited time chasing 192 to send England a 3-0 lead in the series on Tuesday night.
The latest achievement means that the Eoin Morgan-led outfit has further prolonged its unbeaten streak of the T20I season, which began in October 2018. England is ranked number one in the ODIs and fourth in the Tests.
India, on the other hand, is ranked third in the T20Is and will look to hit some ranking points when they take on Australia in the three-game series starting on Friday. The Virat Kohli side is ranked second in the ODIs and third in the Tests.
In the T20I rankings, India is trailed by Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand.
In the player rankings of ICC for the T20Is, Malan is in the top spot, followed by Babar Azam, Aaron Finch, and KL Rahul. In the bowler rankings, Rashid Khan is in the top position, led by his teammate Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Ashton Agar.
Mohammad Nabi is at the top of the podium in the all-rounder ranking, followed by Shakib al Hasan and Glenn Maxwell.
