The most anticipated season of Mirzapur, finally released last weekend. Fans had been waiting for season 2 for almost two years.
Mirzapur season 2 is a massive success making waves all over social media and amongst the fans. One of the major reasons why the web series has worked big time with the audience is its casting. From Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Vikrant Massey to Rasika Dugal, Mirzapur boasts of tremendous actors playing iconic roles.
Just think, if the show was made in the 90s, here’s what we think would’ve been the ideal star cast of the series.
Kaleen Bhaiya – Naseeruddin Shah

Actor Naseeruddin Shah played several outstanding negative roles in the ’90s be it Mohra, Chaahat, or Sarfarosh, he perfectly fit in for the role of Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya.
Munna Bhaiya – Shah Rukh Khan

Beloved actor Shah Rukh Khan made a career out of playing iconic negative portrayals in films like Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam. He is a perfect fit for the role of Munna Bhaiya. Also, in season one there was an angle of obsessive love, which Shah Rukh Khan would’ve aced.
Guddu Pandit – Sanjay Dutt

Ali Fazal had once remarked that Sanjay Dutt was his inspiration when he was preparing for the role of Guddu Pandit. From immaturity to the grey shades, Sanjay Dutt would’ve pulled it off with ease.
Bablu Pandit – Deepak Tijori

Aashiqui actor Deepak Tijori was popular in the 90s for playing notable roles in successful films like Sadak and Khiladi. He is a good fit for the role of Bablu Pandit and would’ve delivered an understated performance.
Beena Tripathi – Raveena Tandon

Actor Raveena Tandon would’ve been an ambitious casting choice for the role of Beena Tripathi. With her acting skills and her beauty, she’d have nailed it.
Sweety Gupta – Kajol

When you think about Kajol of Karan Arjun and you get Sweety of Mirzapur. Also, how fascinating it would’ve been seeing SRK’s Munna Tripathi brutally massacring Kajol’s Sweety.
Golu Gupta – Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji has the exact persona required to play the role of the feisty Gajagamini “Golu” Gupta.
Bauji – Kader Khan

One of the promising actors and screenwriters of Bollywood, legendary Kader Khan would’ve effortlessly immortalized the most intense character of Mirzapur.
