IPL 2020: Mustafizur Rahman, Bangladesh blower denied NOC to play for IPL

Indian Premier league (IPL) is all set to begin from 19th September. Even players have completed their 14 days quarantine in UAE and are on the grounds for the practice session.

Mustafizur Rahman, Bangladesh bowler has been denied NOC for upcoming IPL by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He was denied the NOC since Bangladesh is supposed to tour Sri Lanka for a three-test series in October. BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan  confirmed “Yes, he [Mustafizur] had an offer from the IPL but we did not give him NOC as we have the Sri Lanka tour coming up.” Though he was allowed by  BCB  to register.

He has been approached by Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders since their pacers have withdrawn from the squad. James Pattinson has been signed in place of Lasith Malinga by Mumbai Indians.Still KKR is yet to find a replacement for Harry Gurney.

His performance has been ordinary since few outings for Bangladesh and even in T20I series conducted in India and was able to pick up one wicket in three games. In the IPL though, he has 24 wickets in as many games at an average of 28.54.

Mustafizur is expected to be a part of the week-long camp planned by Bangladesh before the Sri Lanka tour, which is set to begin on Sepetember 21.
