IPL 2020: Players after undergoing isolation set to depart UAE

IPL 2020: The movement has started and flights have taken off – the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is gathering momentum. With around 4.5 million impressions per match, the most awaited event will be held at three venues across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. The matches will run from September 19 to November 10. Players after undergoing a week’s isolation and testing are now joining their teams.

Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are likely to fly out together in a chartered flight from Mumbai on August 23, while Chennai Super Kings will leave on August 21. CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan said “All our Indian players and support staff will be traveling together from Chennai after our scheduled camp (scheduled was held from August 16-20)

A top-level delegation from BCCI is expected to reach the UAE by the third week of August to do a re-check of the venues and the other facilities. Following the rules and precaution laid down by The UAE, the team, comprising some of the top officials of the Board, will have to ‘self-quarantine’ themselves for six days before going about their business.
