Reliance Jio has teamed up with MediaTek to announce the launch of ‘Gaming Masters’, a Jio platform online gaming tournament. Both new as well as old gaming enthusiasts are welcome to this tournament. The tournament is set to run for 70 days and is scheduled to take place between January 13 and March 7.
Jio will stream all the competitive e-sports games on the JioTV HD Esports channel live, in order to make it even more interesting. Also, the live stream will take place on YouTube, the famous video platform.
The announcement comes only a few days after the first online gaming event ‘JioGames’ was successfully completed – ‘India ka Gaming Champion.’ After that tournament, the company claims that ‘Gaming Masters’ will be ‘the biggest online-gaming tournament on the Jio Games platform’.
The telecom operator would give away prizes worth Rs. 12.5 lakhs to make the tournament exciting for all the gamers. Interestingly, any registration or participation fees are not required for the gaming tournament. Registrations for the tournament will start on 29 December and run until 9 January. The tournament itself, as mentioned above, will begin on January 13 and will continue until March 7.
Reliance Jio said in a press release, “Gaming Masters will feature Garena’s self-developed hit battle royale title, Free Fire, which is being made available to both Jio and non-Jio users through the JioGames platform.”
The JioGames website can be accessed by gamers to register themselves. Users will have to visit a dedicated page produced by MediaTek in order to receive more details.
