Jitan Ram Manjhi quits ‘Mahagathbandhan’ before Bihar polls

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) quits the Grand Alliance on Thursday.

He did not comment on any future alliances or groupings with other parties.

Spokesperson of Hindustani Awam Morcha Danish Rizwan said, “HAM will be no longer constituent of the Mahagathabandhan and decided to leave the party.”

The Opposition coalition consists of five parties in Bihar out of which Manjhi’s party decided to quit.

Rizwan added, “The decision was taken by the core committee of HAM, a meeting convened at Manjhi’s residence here.”The developments came months before the party to go for the polls.

Apart from HAM, the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar comprises RJD, Congress, Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) and Bollywood set designer Mukesh Sahni headed Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP).
