“just setting up my twttr”: Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO auctioned first tweet as digital memorabilia

Jack Dorsey has auctioned the first-ever tweet as Digital Memorabilia, “just setting up my twttr” is up for sale. This happened after Jack Dorsey listed his famous post as a unique digital signature on a website for selling tweets as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

An NFT is a cryptographic token that is enjoying popularity with artists and musicians. The digital assets are stored on the blockchain.

The tweet from 15 years ago is going for more than $100,000. Dorsey announced the sale by linking to it in a tweet Friday at around 4 p.m. PT. A little later, the highest bid on the NFT was $110,000.

The buyer of the tweet will get an autographed digital certificate, signed using cryptography, that will include metadata of the original tweet, according to the Valuables website.
