Union Minister for Women & Child Development Smriti Irani highlighted the never ending issue, that still lives beneath the roots of developing country; gender inequality.
In a virtual summit on March 5th, through video conferencing Smriti Irani said, “For competitive exams, girls don’t get that much financial support as compared to boys. This bias begins when girl child is given kitchen set or dolls to play with while boys are given toy truck or lego set. It needs to be mended immediately.”
At @FollowCII virtual forum on Women in Workforce, shared my thoughts on engendering industry sectors.
Time has come for everyone to realise –

She even remarked that from twelfth to higher education girls in the STEM based jobs is less than 25% and main reason is they don’t receive financial support for the same.
The issue, Smriti Irani raised isn’t the new one but surely is a desperate one that needs to be resolved.
