Laal singh chaddha and Rakshabandhan hit the big screens today. The advance bookings of both the films are below expectations. Aamir Khan starrer Laal singh chaddha is big let down to classic Forrest Gump. It is just impossible to sit through to the end, too long, tedious and boring despite fabulous making. First half of the movie is good, but second half disappoints the audience.
Speaking of performances, Aamir Khan is in excellent form and completely dominates the character. In a few scenes, he merely communicates through his eyes. Kareena Kapoor Khan gives a terrific performance. Bollywood debutant Chaitanya Akkineni leaves a huge mark despite having a small role
With Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan returns of big screen after 4 years. The film is being released on approximately 3500 screens in India (including Tamil and Telugu) and will receive a showcasing of 10,000 shows per day in the north. If audience feedback is positive, the Aamir Khan starrer will have enough room to erupt at the box office.
On the other hand, Akshay kumar starrer Rakshabandhan receives a positive response. A touching sibling bond story gives Heartfelt moment in first half and gripping drama in second half. A family entertainer gives the vibes of 90s family based movie. It gives powerful message about dowry
Despite low advance booking and 15% occupancy in morning shows, film has potential to be a Superhit. Because Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar starrer impresses audiences, leaves them teary-eyed.
Speaking of performances, Akshay Kumar’s performance here deserves a special mention. He hits the ball out of park. He puts so much enthusiasm into it, it will be hard to hold back the tears. He lets his vulnerability dominate the scene and it’s worth watching. Bhumi Pednekar proves again that she is a brilliant actor. She gets a very unidimensional character to portray . Her only motive in life is to marry Kedarnath and nothing else. Bhumi controls the loud character without crossing any boundaries.
