Man attacks neighbours in Paschim Vihar, Delhi, after becoming enraged over a pet dog’s barking  

In a disturbing incident, a man beat three neighbours in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar neighbourhood when their dog growled at him. After first hurling a brick at them, the guy struck them with an iron pipe. The neighbour, Rakshit, detailed what happened by stating, “Our neighbour, Dharamveer, was walking by our home when our pet dog, who keeps watch at the gate, barked at him. He became furious at this and grabbed the dog by the tail, flung him, and began thrashing him.”

Later, Rakshit stepped in, sparking an altercation during which Dharamveer beat him with a brick. Apart from Rakshit, he went inside to fetch an iron pipe and beat two more family members.

“A man injured 3 members of a family in his neighbourhood in Paschim Vihar by hitting them with an iron rod allegedly after their pet dog barked at him. He also hit the dog & injured it Dog’s owner says they filed complaint,FIR yet to be registered. Injured under treatment,” ANI tweeted.

“On the statement of Rakshit (owner of the dog), a case registered under various sections of IPC and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act registered at Paschim Vihar East Police Station. Investigation of the case is in progress and facts are being verified: Delhi Police,” ANI further added.

Dharamveer struck Rakshit’s maternal uncle with an iron pipe, causing him to fall to the ground after first hitting the dog with it. CCTV recorded the entire event. On the basis of Rakshit’s testimony, a FIR has been filed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and sections 589, 22, 308, 323, and 451 of the IPC.
