Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has on Wednesday (August 26, 2020) called an urgent meeting to discuss the rising number of coronavirus COVID-19 cases in the national capital despite extreme precautionary measures taken by the AAP government.
According to sources, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, and senior Delhi government officials will be attending the crucial meeting to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the national capital.
CM Arvind Kejriwal showed his concern on an increasing number of cases of Coronavirus and said, “Recovery rate is more than 90% in National Capital.”
He further said, ” The number of cases has increased but recovery rates have also increased along with it.” He sounded confident over his strategies to increase testings and isolation for people.
He also decided along with others to increase the number of Testing to double considering marginal increment in the number of cases. He said, “There will be 40,000 tests to be conducted per day in Delhi.”

Delhi’s Covid19 death rates are 1.4% in the month of August. Delhi recorded 1,544 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday – its highest single-day spike in August – to take the total number of cases in the city past 1.64 lakh.
While briefing media he also pointed on people’s mentality to not conduct tests in case of no symptoms to be found. He urged people to not wait for major symptoms to take over and suggested them to follow Covid19 Healthcare guidelines.
CM Arvind Kejariwal also said, ” Issued directions for the stringent enforcement of COVID19 guidelines.” He continued by stating the fact that no patient had died after July 14 while living in-home quarantine.
