MS Dhoni undergoing knee treatment from a local ‘Vaidya’ in Ranchi

Veteran cricketer and former India captain MS Dhoni is getting treatment for his knees from a local “vaidya” after complaining of soreness in both knees.

Ayurveda practitioners known as “vaidyas” aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of wounds. According to reports, Dhoni is receiving treatment from a local doctor in Ranchi.

Vaidya Bandhan Singh Kharwar has been providing medical care to patients for the past 28 years in Katingkela in the vicinity of the Lapung police station, around 70 kilometres from Ranchi. Dhoni has been going to him to receive his medication for the last month, stopping by his tarpaulin tent under a tree every four days. This Vaidya makes a special medication for treating bone conditions that cannot be taken home.

Famous doctor Vandan Singh advises his patients to drink milk that has been flavoured with various herbs. Dhoni had received one dosage of the medicine a month earlier, according to him, and the date of his next visit to receive the second dose was unknown. The doctor said how he was unable to identify Dhoni and only became aware of him after locals started clicking photographs with the celebrity in a video that has now gone viral online.

Dhoni’s parents had been seeing the expert for two to three months prior to Dhoni joining them after experiencing some difficulty, according to a Times Now News article. Dhoni told the doctor that his left and right knees were hurting, and he subsequently received a dose of an INR 40 medication.
