Pangong Tso On Target: China Claims Warning Shots From India

Indian Troops baffled the Chinese manoeuvres and occupied the strategic heights on the South bank of Pangong Tso and Rechin La near Rezang La, days after the burning issue of border dispute boiled up again.

On Monday night, the Chinese PLA claimed again that Indian troops have started firing again on the borders, interrupting it to “take countermeasures to stabilize the situation on the ground”.

Chinese troops alleged that warning shots have started first from the Indian side of the LAC. Indian Army didn’t respond immediately.

Colonel Zhang Shuili, spokesperson for the PLA Western Theatre Command in his statement claimed that Indian Army crossed the line and tried to enter Bangong Hunan, the western section of the Sino-Indian border.

According to his statement, Indian Army disrupted the agreement signed between both the armies as well as violating the agreements decided between China and India over diplomatic talks. Due to these violations, misunderstandings and misjudgements have emerged.

Further added, “serious military provocations… of very bad nature. The Indian side to immediately stop dangerous actions, immediately withdraw cross-line personnel, strictly restrain front-line troops, and strictly investigate and punish personnel who fired shots to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again”.

Exactly a week ago, Indian troops occupied successfully Target and strategic points which enabled army to have commanding view at the Chushul sector. Troops can now keep an eye on the China’s Moldo Garrison and can prevent China’s attempt to transgress via Spanggur Gap.
