Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday while addressing the students at Tezpur University, Assam said that their learning knowledge will boost the nation’s progress.

While addressing the 18th convocation of Assam’s Tezpur University PM Modi said, “It is an auspicious day for the graduating students. The name of Tezpur University has been added forever in your professional journey. Everything that you have learned in this university will help accelerate the development of the nation.”

Taking into consideration that the country is entering into its 75th year of independence, and several people have sacrificed their lives and had contributed to the nation’s freedom struggle, he said, “Several people had sacrificed their lives, their youth. Now you have to live for New India, Aatmanirbhar India.”
He also recognised the innovations of the students at the grassroot level which somehow managed to help the nation in a big way under ‘Vocal For Local‘. PM Narendra Modi continued, “These innovations are helping in solving local problems and thus, opening new doors towards development.” He also applauded the efforts and work of Tezpur University, which is working towards conservation of biodiversity and rich heritage of North-east.
He appreciated that the Chemical Sciences Department in the university has worked towards developing technology which is easy and affordable for clean drinking water that has helped villages there. He said, “This innovation has helped in accelerating and empowering the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ mission.” He also mentioned the victory of Indian Cricket Team at Brisbane and urged students to take inspiration from them.
