PM Modi celebrates ‘special’ Raksha Bandhan with daughters of sweepers, peons, drivers, etc working at PMO

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a special way today with daughters of his staff members tying him rakhis at his residence. According to authorities, daughters of sweepers, peons, gardeners, drivers, and other PMO employees participated in the festivities.

The Prime Minister spoke with the children as they tied him rakhis and inquired about their names in a celebratory video that ANI posted.

The Prime Minister tweeted holiday greetings earlier in the day. He had tweeted, “Greetings to everyone on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”

Today, August 11, is Raksha Bandhan, a national holiday honouring the close link of sibling love.

Prior to Raksha Bandhan, an Indian woman of Pakistani descent named Qamar Mohsin Shaikh made headlines for mailing the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, a rakhi and wished him health and success in his political career.

There are rumours that Shaikh has been giving PM Modi a Rakhi every year for the past 27 years. She also wished Modi success for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 this time.

In the meanwhile, on Raksha Bandhan, widows from Vrindavan sent PM Modi 501 “rakhis” and 75 national flags.

The rakhis featuring colour images of Prime Minister Modi were fashioned by the widows residing in the Maa Sharda and Radha Tila ashrams in Vrindavan.
