‘Prevent Muslims from being misled in 2024 election’, Mayawati tells party workers

Mayawati, head of the BSP, praised the success of her party’s candidate in the Lok Sabha by-election in Azamgarh on Monday, June 27 (PTI), and urged party members to maintain momentum and prevent Muslims from being deceived in the 2024 general election. Mayawati tweeted in Hindi, “The dedication and bravery with which the BSP activists, office bearers, and party candidate Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali fought the Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election must be maintained till the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections while maintaining election preparation.”

In another tweet, she said that the BSP’s fight and efforts must be sustained across the whole of Uttar Pradesh in order to turn the groundwork into votes.

In an apparent allusion to Muslim voters, she said, “In this sequence, it is also essential to prevent a specific population from being deceived in the future elections.”

Mayawati said on Sunday that the results of the by-election demonstrated that only the BSP had the “ground power” to beat the BJP in the state.

“The by-election results in UP have once again shown that only BSP has the ‘root force’ to fight BJP in this state. The party will continue to demonstrate this to the whole population so that the long-awaited political transformation may occur in the state, the BSP president stated.

She wrote, “The governing party wins the majority of by-elections, but it is laudable that the BSP gave the ruling BJP and SP a difficult battle in Azamgarh. All party workers must advance with more vigor.” The BSP alone ran in the Azamgarh by-election. There, party candidate Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali placed third with 29.27% of the vote.

In the by-elections conducted on Sunday, candidates for the BJP won both the Azamgarh and Rampur seats. PTI SAB NB NB VN VN VN VN
