Responsibility of LAC dispute “lies entirely with India”says China

Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh had two and half hour meeting with his Chinese counterpart General Wei Fenghe on Friday evening in Moscow.

Reportedly, India clarified on its part that the Chinese transgressions are impacting border peace. Defence Ministry said, “actions of the Chinese troops, including amassing of large number of troops, their aggressive behaviour and attempts to unilaterally alter the status quo were in violation of the bilateral agreements and not in keeping with the understandings reached between the Special Representatives of two sides.”

This was considered to be the first official meeting of the Defence Ministers of respective countries after the military stand-off early in May. Both the leaders kept blaming each other on this dispute. Chinese defence Minister said that India is entirely responsible for whatever happens at the border. He said responsibility “lies entirely with India”.

Government and Defence Ministry of both the countries continue to believe in diplomatic solution to the border disputes. But the diplomatic solution and military talk on disengagement and de-escalation were on the delay list since mid of July.

Meeting between defence Minister of two country’s do not reflect and show signs of any progress or resolution. Situation still remains tense even after the commander level and defence Ministry level talk.

Rajnath Singh stated clearly, “while the Indian troops had always taken a very responsible approach towards border management, at the same time there should also be no doubt about our determination to protect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” as per defence Ministry reported.

He (as per reported from Defence Ministry) “categorically conveyed India’s position on the developments along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) including in the Galwan valley in the Western Sector of the India-China Border Areas in the last few months”.
