SC stays implementation of farm laws, Sets up a Committee to hear farmer’s grievances

The Supreme Court of India’s order to stay the implementation of three farm laws on Tuesday has been welcomed by the farmers association. Though after hearing the Apex Court’s decision, they were filled with optimism yet said they wouldn’t call off the protest until the legislations are repealed.

Farmers also said that they are unwilling to participate in any proceedings till Supreme Court appoints a committee.

The Prime body of around 40 protesting farm unions, The Sankyukt Kisan Morcha has called for a meeting later to decide the next course of action. Abhimanyu Kohar, a senior leader of the Morcha told PTI, “We welcome the court’s order to stay the implementation of the farm laws, but we want a complete repeal of these laws.”
