Shocking news from Punjab, Sub-Inspector shoots an unarmed man in Derabassi

A shocking news is coming from Punjab where a police officer who was on duty shot an unarmed man on the Hebatpur road in Derabassi on Monday night, wounding him in the leg. This occurred when a man named Hitesh approached a Sub-Inspector (SI) for acting inappropriately toward his wife. As the altercation progressed, the officer opened fire at Hitesh.

Speaking about the incident, the victim’s brother informed ANI that when the police party arrived, they misbehaved with them and attempted to search his wife’s luggage, who was also there. Additionally, he asserted that the policemen were drunken when they fired their weapons.

However, a police officer who was also there denied the charges and stated, “While on patrol, we noticed a couple standing by the road. We enquired about their origins from them. As they engaged in combat with us, a Sub Inspector opened fire on them. They attempted to tear my uniform as well.”

Notably, the sufferer who had a gunshot wound to his leg is now receiving medical care at the hospital.

Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, a BJP politician, has vehemently denounced the abuse of power by the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration.

Tajinder Pal Bagga criticised AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal by sharing the incident’s video and claiming that under his administration, the Punjab Police had ceased to consider citizens as human beings.

The BJP spokesman further said that several policemen could have apprehended the guy, but instead they chose to shoot at him. He claimed that Punjab Police officers had manhandled a lady and shot her husband when he struggled.

Additionally, Bagga took a jibe at the Delhi chief minister in another tweet by speculating ‘this is why Kejriwal had asked to provide them the police force’ before elections.

However, the Police Officer is now suspended.
