Subramanian Swamy Asks Why PM Modi Is Delaying In Declaring ‘Ram Setu’ As The National Heritage Monument

BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy questioned PM Modi on why is he not declaring Ram Setu as a National Heritage so that it can be maintained by Centre.

Subramanian Swamy wrote on Twitter, “Why is PM not signing the file to declare Ram Setu as National Monument so that the Setu can be maintained by Union Government? Is anyone worried that I will get the credit or is it Uttarakhand  Government type of perverseness in the PMO? I don’t need the credit. Lord Ram does.”

Ram Setu also known as Adam’s bridge, which is a chain of limestone shoals between Rameswaram Island off the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu.

Subramanian Swamy filed a PIL against the controversial Sethusamudram Ship Channel project initiated by the UPA-I government after which matter reached Supreme Court which ordered stay on it.

On it Union Government in 2017 answered that it would continue with the original alignment of the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal project in order to protect Ram Setu.
