Sushant had nothing to do with drugs after he left in June 2019: Samuel Haokip

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), investigating actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, called actor Rhea Chakraborty’s father, Indrajit for questioning for the third consecutive day on Thursday today.

Indrajit left home at 10 in the morning and reached the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) guesthouse at 10:20 am.

They’ve also been questioning domestic help, managers, and friends of Sushant Singh Rajput’s apart from Rhea and her family.

CBI officials have been in Mumbai since August 20 and have collected all evidence, registered a case of accidental death, and probed the case. In its investigation, the Mumbai police had recorded statements of 56 persons.

Meanwhile, the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) continued to question two Bandra residents for alleged drug peddling and their suspected connection with the case has arrested 20-year-old Bandra resident ‘Zaid Vilatra’ late on Wednesday night, and was produced before a metropolitan magistrate’s court on Thursday noon. He was remanded to NCB’s custody till September 9.

On August 28, NCB had arrested ‘Abbas Ali Lakhani (21)’ a resident of Bandra with 46 grams of ‘ganja’. On the basis of information given by Lakhani, his supplier ‘Karn Arora’ was arrested from Powai with 13 grams of ‘ganja’.

Later, on the information provided by the two arrested, NCB had arrested Vilatra. The agency recovered Rs 9.55 lakhs, 2,081 US dollars, 180 UK Pound, and 15 Dirhams. In his statement, Vilatra has reportedly said that the seized amount was sale proceeds of contraband and that he had supplied marijuana to many persons, claimed NCB.

In its application before the court, NCB claimed that Vilatra ‘has revealed so many names with whom he was dealing in drugs’ and for that purpose, his custody was needed. “The NCB is investigating drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput case and therefore is highly substantive and needs to be investigated thoroughly so as to uproot drug citadel in Mumbai especially in Bollywood,” read the application filed by NCB seeking Vilatra’s custody.

Apart from CBI and NCB, the Enforcement Directorate(ED) is also probing the money laundering angle in connection with the late actor’s death.

In a Press Conference held in the capital on Wednesday, the late actor’s family lawyer Vikas Singh said: “Media campaigns are being run to boost Rhea Chakraborty’s image”.

Big confessions are also coming up from Shruti Modi. Reportedly she has told CBI, “drugs were very much part of culture around SSR” and that she was just a facilitator and was not into narcotics substance. She added that it was Chakrabortys (Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik) and his staff. She was being forced to be part of it.

Samuel Haokip (Sushant’s Friend) said “I left in June 2019 and till then, Sushant had nothing to do with drugs. We had multiple parties at home with cigarettes and alcohol. We were staying with Sushant. He could fool us once, but not every single day. If he hid and did something, we were not fools to not understand the evident and sudden change in behavior. ”
