Two days after Supreme Court directed the CBI to probe the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the agency on Friday began its inquiry after receiving relevant documents and reports from the Mumbai Police, news agency PTI reported.
A team of 10 members of the CBI, which includes forensic experts, reached Mumbai a day before, on Thursday. The officials have been released from the mandatory 14-day quarantine in light of Covid-19, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced.
This morning, the CBI team interrogated Rajput’s cook at the DRDO and IAF guest house in Santa Cruz. A vehicle ferrying the cook and an official were found entering the guest house complex. The team brought an unidentified person related to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, said sources.

The CBI has registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others in connection with the actor’s death. An FIR was registered in Patna on a complaint filed by KK Singh, Rajput’s father, under sections related to force to suicide. This was done after the Centre accepted Bihar Government’s recommendation to transfer the probe in the matter from Patna. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
