Vikas Dubey encounter: Supreme Court rejects plea against Justice B S Chauhan led panel

The Apex Court on Wednesday rejected a plea questioning the setting up of a three-member judicial commission, headed by former supreme court judge Justice B S Chauhan, to investigate into the encounter killing of Vikas Dubey.

A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde said that there were enough safeguards to ensure fair inquiry by the judicial panel into the encounter which took place this year.

The verdict came on a plea filed by advocate Ghanshyam Upadhaya seeking the reconstitution of the inquiry commission.

This inquiry committee was set up by Uttar Pradesh state and approved by the top Court to look into the alleged fake encounter in which gangster Vikas Dubey was killed.
