Facebook clarified its part on removing pages from the portal to BJP, ‘We prohibit hate speech that incites violence’.
A day after Facebook got accused by BJP of removing 700 pages all keenly focussed on nationalist narrative before 2019 elections, the social media group responded in return that it does not allow speech and content which could incite violence and discontent.
BJP IT Cell Head Amit Malviya on Sunday had claimed that the BJP and the ‘wider conservative ecosystem’ was never in the focus of the Facebook as the platform removed 700 pages related to a nationalist narrative in before the outbreak 2019 general election promotions.
“We prohibit hate speech and content that incites violence and we enforce these policies globally without regard to anyone’s political position or party affiliation. While we know there is more to do, we’re making progress on enforcement and conduct regular audits of our process to ensure the failure of such posts.” the social media platform remarked.
