WhatsApp on Tuesday has started to show in-app notification to users informing them about the changes the company has made in its Terms of Services and Privacy Policy. The notification reads, “WhatsApp is updating its terms and privacy policy” sent to all the users of Android and iOS both.
Today, #WhatsApp, issued an in-app notification regarding the privacy policy and terms of services. It also provided info on how the App processes users’ data and store/manages chats. The notification further added, “By tapping Agree, you accept the new terms and privacy policy, which take effect on 8 February 2021. After this date, you’ll need to accept these updates to continue using WhatsApp.” This notification confirms the fact from the company that if you wouldn’t agree to the policies then you wouldn’t be able to use to the application.
On the official website of WhatsApp, the revelations about how it processes user data, the company says, “when a user forwards media within a message, we store that media temporarily in encrypted form on our servers to aid in the more efficient delivery of additional forwards.”

Elaborating about the Terms update reads, “We do not retain your messages in the ordinary course of providing our Services to you. Instead, your messages are stored on your device and not typically stored on our servers. Once your messages are delivered, they are deleted from our servers.”
