“You don’t really believed it ? ” : Amazon denied the accusation of workers urinating in bottles, See twitter reaction.

The globally well known e-commerce organisation Amazon has been recently put in the stand for not providing their employees a confined break during work hours and force them to urinate in bottles, when it comes to natural break.

The working conditions at this multination company is grotty. Employees have to work for long hours without a defined break and neither have any job security, as per the reports.

The bathroom break controversy came into light after British Journalist James Bloodworth came with his book ‘Hired: Six Months Undercover in Low-Wage Britain’, in 2018. James worked for the company undercover for his book.

Journalist reported that workers were force to urinate in bottles due to hectic work hours and high demands by organisation. Even temperature setting in warehouse is dreadful, employees have work in muggy conditions. Workers also gave the proof.

Dave Clark, CEO of Amazon addressed the accusations indirectly making a statement of company being a progressive workplace. He tweeted on Thursday stating,  ” 1/3 I welcome @SenSanders to Birmingham and appreciate his push for a progressive workplace. I often say we are the Bernie Sanders of employers, but that’s not quite right because we actually deliver a progressive workplace. ”

Mark Pocan, US Representative countered the claim with his tweet remarking, ” Paying workers $15/hr doesn’t make you a “progressive workplace” when you union-bust & make workers urinate in water bottles.”

Amazon denied the accusation and came straight to its consumer on twitter saying, ” 1/2 You don’t really believe the peeing in bottles thing, do you? If that were true, nobody would work for us. The truth is that we have over a million incredible employees around the world who are proud of what they do, and have great wages and health care from day one.”

The thread of accusation carried on and Mark countered Amazon’s tweet with the proof in another tweet with the picture of two bottles one filled with water and other with pee, with the caption: ” Surprise, @amazon workers weren’t lying about their awful workplace conditions. So then why did @amazonnews try and deny it?”

The counter of the organisation created a PR fiasco, the e-commerce organisation is being criticised globally. See reactions on twitter:
