Zee News CEO and editor-in-chief Sudhir Chaudhary resigns, will start new venture

The anchor of the programme Daily News & Analysis on Zee News, Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of Zee News, WION, Zee Business, and Zee 24 Taas, has resigned. After ten years of molding Zee News’ DNA, Chaudhary leaves the company.

Chaudhary stated his desire to launch his own business as the reason for leaving Zee in his resignation letter to Subhash Chandra, Chairman of the Essel Group.

In a letter of resignation to Essel Group CEO Subhash Chandra, Chaudhary stated that his choice to leave was the “result of my internal deliberations” to “start my own enterprise.”

He left the firm with sad heart and asked Chandra for his blessings.

He said, “I assure you that my proposed new venture (if successful) will make you happy and proud of me.”

As part of its new newsroom approach, there are also rumours that Zee News is developing a pool of new anchors from its various clusters. The media tycoon Subhash Chandra, according to experts, has established a new vision for the channel, and these moves are a part of a larger newsroom shift.

Since he began his career with Zee, Chaudhary has spent over three decades working in the television news profession. He left Zee News in 2003 and helped Sahara Samay, the Sahara group’s Hindi-language news channel, get off the ground. He briefly worked for India TV as well. He returned to Zee News in 2012, where he now presents the well-liked news programme Daily News & Analysis.
